Rust College Choir to Perform for Supreme Court Investiture
The Rust College A’Cappella Choir will travel to Jackson, Mississippi to participate in the investiture ceremony for Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Leslie D. King scheduled for 1:30 p.m. April 13, 2011.
Justice King, of Greenville, Mississippi, was appointed by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour after a Supreme Court seat was vacated by Justice James E. Graves, Jr. following his appointment to the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Justice King officially began his duties to the Mississippi Supreme Court on March 1, 2011.
The Rust College A’Cappella Choir will sing the “Star Spangled Banner” and the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” as part of the program which will include speakers from across the state. Gov. Barbour will serve as keynote speaker.
The ceremony will be held in the En Banc Courtroom of the Gartin Justice Building, and will be web cast on the Supreme Court’s website www.mssc.state.ms.us.
