24 people lost their life as a ferry capsized in a river in eastern Bangladesh. At least 100 passengers were aboard the boat when the mishap occured. Passengers that could swim went ashore but some are reported as missing. The accident was caused by hitting a wreckagoe of another cargo ferry that recently sunk only days before. The source of this report stated that ferry accidents are blamed with overcrowding and lax rules in water travel. Ferry travel accidents are amongst the most common accidents in the region.

I'm sorry to hear about this preventable mishap. Hopefully the Govt. of Bangladesh will make laws regarding safe ferry travel and hire people that will not be corrupt and really enforce them.
