Spread the word to help save Troy Davis

"If I knew then what I know now, Troy Davis would not be on death row. The verdict would have been 'Not Guilty.'" - Juror Brenda Forrest

Thank you so much for signing our petition and standing with Troy Davis. As of today, more than 34,000 members of the NAACP family have spoken out and told the Georgia Parole Board not to execute Troy. Now it's up to us to spread the word and make our collective voice even louder. This CNN video from 2009 documents the inconsistencies in Troy's case and shows footage of multiple witnesses recanting their statements that they saw Troy Davis commit murder. Watch this video and post it to your Facebook profile, tweet it, and help spread the word:

It only took the jury a few hours to sentence Troy Davis to death -- a conviction based almost entirely on witness testimonies. Today, seven of the nine witnesses have recanted their statements. Despite all of the questionable evidence, he remains on death row. So we must continue to draw national attention to this incredible injustice. In the video, witnesses have spoken out and expressed deep remorse over the possibility that an innocent man could be sentenced to death. It is now our moment to join their call for justice, and make sure the Parole Board is listening.

Thank you,
Ben Jealous, President and CEO NAACP

Don't waste breath on prayer vigils to me. I can't understand over a billion people all muttering at the same time. I came up the saying, "**** in one hand and pray in the other and see which one fills up faster".
