NEW ORLEANS -- Two bodies pulled from Lake Pontchartrain this week are the 13-year-old brothers who went missing on Easter Sunday, according to a family member.

Family members said Aaronne Mitchell and Aaronne Russell were identified as the bodies found by authorities.

A family member said, both of the boys bodies recovered have been positively identified as the teens -- one was identified through dental records, the other through scars.

Earlier, according to the teens’ father, Aaronne Simmons, the family planed to search around 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday in the area where the bodies were found, and said they were still holding out hope that the bodies do not belong to the missing teens.

Meanwhile, Eddie Skena from Wildlife and Fisheries said their search has ended. They believe the bodies do belong to the two teens, even though there has not yet been an autopsy.

Skena said if the autopsy shows that the bodies do not belong to the teens, he will speak with his captain and decide whether or not the search will continue again.

Equusearch, the volunteer search team from Texas, is also no longer searching for the missing boys.
