HBCU Choirs Join International Combined Choir To Form 105 Voices
An International Conductors Team, US and Bahamian, will Lead 105 Voices in a "ONE Voice" Music Gala in Nassau Bahamas. This is the first time in history; we are linking leadership, voices, cultures, traditions and talents of U.S. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), The College of the Bahamas and the Bahamas National Youth Choir in an education initiative through the arts. May 17-22, 2011, 105 Bahamian and American students will participate in a collaborative learning experience called the Leadership Academy - Vocal International Development (LAVID). LAVID will conclude with an international musical gala called, "One Voice". Host MC Team for the concert is Debbie Bartlett and Clint Watson. Conductors featured: Winston Salem State University, Hampton University, Kentucky State University, The College of the Bahamas and The Bahamas National Youth Choir.
"One Voice" is held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, 7P.M. Christ Cathedral Church, George Street, Nassau, Bahamas. Tickets are $25 for general seating and $35 for reserved seating. Partners Achieving Success (PAS) is an American non-profit that "Develops Diverse Leaders to Perform/Communicate on all stages". Since 2008 PAS, along with corporate and government leaders, have successful provide this model of leadership training for 105 American minority students in Washington, D.C. The students selected for the training represented each of America's HBCU. Each year our training concluded with concerts at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D.C. PAS has contributed over $70,000 in scholarships since the program's inception.
