OFFICIALS ARE DEBATING THE RELEASE OF TWO PHOTOS: one of bin Laden in the environment where he was killed, and one of the burial at sea. President Obama, characteristically, isn't being rushed into it. Jay Carney at the briefing: "[T]here are sensitivities here in terms of the appropriateness ... [W]e ... make this decision with the same calculation as we do so many things, which is what we're trying to accomplish and does it serve or in any way harm our interests. And that is not just domestic, but globally." Panetta gave Brian Williams the case for release: "The bottom line is that ... we got bin Laden and I think we have to reveal to the rest of the world the fact that we were able to get him and kill him."
