Not releasing the photos

From a political perspective, it was a good decision for the president not to show pictures. Such action would set off a chain reaction of negative events. We must remember what had happened in Somalia. The body of an American soldier was dragged through the streets.
The reaction would definitely be "An eye for an eye." Displaying any picture on either side is barbaric and demonstrates the behavior of incivility. It is not a good move if eventually we want to have a relationship in the Arab world. Change must also include correcting global wrongs where ever the source.

I think the main reason and the absolute best reason not to aire the photo was that President Obama is keeping in mind the lives of thousands of American soldiers and American citizens abroad especially in Afghanistan and Pakistan. As you might well remember, it was in Pakistan where the late journalist Daniel Pearl was decapitated.

The man can make a decision!

Those of his opponents who accuse him of dithering or being indecisive, are--once again--completely disproved by actual events.

He has shown himself to be a first class commander in Chief.
