The Queen's Chair: Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Marsha Jones · Thursday, May 5th 2011 at 4:46PM · 544 views
It's May 5th. The day after my daughter's birthday. Most people don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo. They think that day is a Spanish independence one. It's not. It's a Mexican celebration of a war victory.

I plan on celebrating tonight. No dancing. I studied Spanish in school (my daughters are carrying on the tradition) and love the culture. I'm cooking beans and rice with tacos. Having a virgin margarita and my girls are having water. Will put on some Mexican tunes on in the car on the way to practice.

Thanks Marsha, because we should learn about the Mexican's abe Lincoln also. "I" know how excited I was to learn about this when learning about Cinco de Mayo. (smile)
