Trust in us, we will respond,
Surviving is a challenge we all over come,
Under ourselves in a chance we all get,
Never give up, just wait and see.
A goal is a goal, and I will chant!
Making it true, that is that.
I will live the vow!

Because, this youth is a NDB...the 'VOW' is to never be defeated by any obsticle standing between the individual and their being happy, secure and safe, content in life....Here is her in her own words on how this poem came about...

I am in the 5th grade. I just finised writing a poem about the devastation in Japan. I got inspired on March 26, when I attended a prayer meeting for the people in Japan at the SGI-USA Seattle center. My mom called me and asked me to write a poem and send it to SGI President Ikeda. I usually write what I feel, but when I got the paper, it struck me, "Lets' write about Japan!" When I put my pencil on the paper, it is all just came to me. Here is the poem:

"I" have just shared with you one of the experiences from the children's section of my weekly NDB paper called, The world Tribune. (smile)

You know mE and computers my child...if you go to SGI-USA.org and do your computer what ever to ask them for the World Tribune for May 6, 2011, page 4...or try ffp@sgi-usa.org...that is the children's place where they send to their section of the paper called FRIENDS FOR PEACE (THESE eLEMENTARY STUDENTS ARE ON A 30 YEAR MISSION OF PEACE IN THEIR FUTURE)

tHANKS FOR ASKING... We have a Mexican 13 year old here where I live that if you ask her to write a poem or a song all you have to do is giver her the subject...this is why when I was reading about this youth she stood out so much to me. (smile)
