Currently news of Moammar Gadhafi ready for a truce to stop fighting in his country may prompt questions of his sincerity. Gadahafi conditions have given efforts to a cease fire, but rebels rejected the offer. In a meeting with African President Jacob Zumba it was reported that Gadhafi is ready to accept an African Union initiative for a cease fire. This agreement would stop all hostile actions on the people. In addition NATO would also have to be included in the cease-fire. It's Zuma intention that this cease-fire would allow all Libyans to be given a time to talk among themselves and to determine the country's future. This flag of cease hasn't heard Gadhafi saying he is ready to step down from his authority seat. Meanwhile, there seems to be an indication that the regime is slowing losing support from top Libyan army officers, including five generals and these have appealed to their fellow officers to join in the revolt. Gadhafi has lost at least 3 senior officials during the uprising in February. However, regardless of this militiary leaders leaving Gadhafi clings tightly to his rule and power to remain in his official seat as leader.
Rebels then continue to sway away from his sincerity and offer him only one choice that is to "Step down and leave"

WHAT YOU THINK..IS GADAFI SINCERE ABOUT A TRUCE?

We'll be watching along with the world...

And if he steps down, is this a victory for Libya, or NATO?

Steve those are great posing questions..and that little word "if" can determine who may have a victory. The spoils will be to the victor so...we'll have watch some more? Waiting and watching.

Oh and I just saw the image, PEACE. But another question occurs to me. Is "killing bin Laden" (just when was he killed?) and "ridding the world of Mubarak and Gadhafi" going to help or hurt President Obama in 2012? I say it depends on the American predilection towards War and Peace. That remains also to be seen.

@ Brother Steve,
NATO's Victory....

I always think of you as being a level-headed man..and your heart beautifully yearns of peace.
Blessed are peacemakers. They are known as the children of God.

As far as thinking about Obama's re-election...I think the people will still support him. He's getting his highest rate of approval on those polls and that's merit enough for many to vote for him again.

update...The president of Africa Jacob Zumba has offered exile for Gadhafi with also a warning that NATO strikes will continue ...which he claimed that may surely destroy Gadhafi. Zuma's pleading with him to surrender his power yet more intensely. Something will have to break soon. Perhaps, the dictator will be sincere in leaving, or continue his plight on his people whom more and more are turning against his ways of setting an example of a leader who really care about them. I believe the time for their peace is really among themselves.
First they must come to reason and to peace.

Just one minor addition Miisrael, Jacob Zuma is president of South Africa.

The way I look at this is, is this all not about the leader of this country refusing to step down in the first place...?!?...

So what is a cease fire going to accomplish except offer undistracted time to collect their dead, more fighters and fighting equipmeants and a better war strategy for all envolved in tis civil war !?!? (nup / smile)

@Steve and Jen....Libya is not one of our nation's states nor territories...

Therefore the victory will be for all who believe that each countys' citizens is its government...and, we should only do this after we learn about that country's basic needs for its survival. example, "I" do believe taht a nation like this one's AVERAGE citizen sees its water source as more valuable than having : oil, democracy or Christianity or a McDonald's in their ever day lives.lol (smile)
