JON STEWART: FOX NEWS IS A LYING DYNASTY, THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS OF LYING

THE DAILY SHOW, June 21, 2011--In his recent debate with Chris Wallace of Fox News, Stewart said that "Fox News viewers are the most consistently misinformed media viewers."

On his show last night, Stewart changed his tune.

"As it turns out," he admitted, "I was misinformed. Which isn't so surprising since I watch a lot of Fox News."

Stewart explained: "Politifact, the non-partisan fact checking guys (and girls) thoroughly researched my statement and they found that in two of the surveys Fox News viewers scored the lowest and in other polls they were NEAR the bottom."

"Ultimately, Politifact declared my statement false."

"I defer to their judgement and apologize for my mistake. And if I were to continue to make these mistakes and not correct them that would undermine the very credibility and respectability that I work so hard to pretend to care about."

BUT...

"Has Politifact ever checked Fox for false statements?"

"Given that Fox News is the two-time defending champion as liar of the year according to Politifact, it's almost like they're a sports dynasty -- but of lying," says Jon Stewart.

On Tuesday night, Stewart ran through a long list of Fox claims that the non-partisan fact checker later declared to be false. That list included two fibs that Politifact rated as the "lie of the year" in 2009 and 2010.

"Fox News is like a lying dynasty," Stewart said. "They're like the New England Patriots of lying."

"Without the Patriots part, because we all know Patriots can't lie," he added.

Here he catalogues the long list of lies by FOX News and the accumulation of the list nearly pushes him off the screen.

Funny!!!

He ROASTS them!

Politifact was being way too technical in their evaluation of JS comment. Turns out--as he proved so graphically and hysterically--they do tell a lot of untruth that misleads their viewers.

I love his very last comment on the whole issue:

"They sure have a lot of F%*#ing correcting to do!"

That's right, Irma. Wallace should have followed the first rule--when you find yourself in a hole, STOP DIGGING!!!

I love how all the accumulated FOX lies were so numerous it all crowded him out of the pict ure.

It was a graphic illustration of exacrtly what he was talking aobut. Fox News Viewers ARE misinformed.

@Rich, "I" can not wait to see the Fox's next move after this one to try and save face by showing how biased the Liberal media is...compared to their "fair and balanced" news reportings...

Lets see... maybe they will have Rachel on for a one on one interview one day when Laura Ingrham is guest hosting for Bill O'Reilly...(otfl) (smile)

And it was just priceless with J.S. talking about the different personalities he changed in and out of trying to be able to compute FOX's rational for even trying to explain their trying to make sense much less legal their advertizing themselves as "fair and balance / a news network...but he did try to take that shovel from Wallace digging himself in deeper and deeper, didn't he? lol (smile)
