JON STEWART RIPS FOX NEWS HYPOCRISY: NORWAY TERROR IS NOT CHRISTIAN--BUT FT. HOOD TERRORIST IS MUSLIM?

THE DAILY SHOW, July 27, 2011--On Wednesday night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart put aside the debt ceiling debate to focus on the recent terrorist attacks in Norway, or at least how Fox News responded to them. Once again Stewart found an opportunity to point out hypocrisy on the network, once again coming from the mouth of Bill O'Reilly.

Several Fox News pundits including Laura Ingrahm have accused the mainstream media of "Playing up the Christian angle" when reporting bomber Anders Behring Breivik's profile and attacks. Ingrahm, as well as Bill O'Reilly, rejected the idea that he represents any Christian sect, fringe or otherwise. While Stewart agreed Breivik's actions were not Christian, he couldn't believe how misdirected the focus was on the story:

"Yes, the massacre in Norway is a tragic story... About the persecution of Christians."
Stewart continud to point out exactly why the media is discussing Breivik's self-declared Christianity, and reassured Ingrahm they're "not doing it to get at you." Perhaps Breivik's 1,500 page manifesto and Powerpoint video paying tribute to Christian crusaders is what gave people the idea that he was a religious extremist. Just maybe.

But the biggest hypocrisy Stewart uncovered came from Bill O'reilly's double standard when discussing religious terrorists. While he insists Breivik is not a Christian ("What, because he says he is? come on!"), he has no problem saying the Fort Hood gunman is Islamic. His defense? Nidal Hasan carried a business card that said he was a solider of Allah. Stewart had to throw up his hands:

"See the difference? That guy printed up 'Soldier of Allah' business cards! The other guy only printed up an army of Christ manifesto. I guess the only connection is, both psychos, for some reason, spent the day at Kinkos."

Right, Irma--

And did you see how the GOP conference used a clip from the Ben Affleck movie "The Town" to motivate their caucus? It is movie about sociopaths. merciless killers and bankrobbers.

"I need your help," the characger says. "We're gonna hurt some people."

Is that the message the GOP wants to deliver to the nation?

@Rich, what a great time for having some running for prresident who can say part of their fame and qualification for running for president of the U.S.A are saying things like: " COME ARMED AND DANGEROUS, HAVING A TV SERIES DEVOTED TO YOUR EXPERTEES IN THE USE OF THE MORE CLIPS AND FASTER DELIVERY OF THESE BULLETS THE MERRIER, PROMOTING THE GUN'S MAKING INDUSTRY, ECT. Rich, it seem FOX is just made for Stewart's comic play ground. example, which story will he use as comic fadder? The House of fox news network, because Rich as this news network has no way to be able to cover this right-wingers NO to their own self...believe it or not there is no Hannity nor Bill just Great covering everyone's spots since there was no votes at the time they said the would so it is as if tose gloating over the success of the house over our president's pre recorded programs had to be shelved...

do you believe this has ever been done by a news network before?????????????? GOD DO I LOVE MY COUNTRY'S 'FREEDOM OF SPEECH' . LOL (SMILE)

So sorry that was meant to be not 'great' but Greta...and, Rich as you know my mind is always asking questions...and, this is thequestion I asked my self as Fox did tis unpresedent thing...

Fox has gone from backing the republicans to backing the Teaparty. fo's political anylast like Palon and Rove andHuckabee are at political odds already...Fox is upset tieh Palin, and Huckabee for letting them hirethem with these high hopes of their running in 2012's persidential elections...

and, to make matters worst both Murdoch and the Teaparty's names aregetting less and less respect / trust / creditable in the public each day...now the fight between the right and the extreme right may have them in such a maybe legal bind in the future that they sent Greta in to help protect them right now in how they lie about what is actually goin gon until as greta is an attorney is the reason she was sent in yersteday to try and save face for Haannity and O'Reilly? ????????????????? lol (smile)

O'REILLY DOES NOT OPENLY LIE ON PURPOSE AS HANNITY DOES BECAUSE HE CAN PLAY GOOD, BAD AS RELATED TO ALL PARTIES DEPENDING ON HIS FEELINGS AT THAT MOMENT. IF HIS GUEST IS AGAINST THE PRESIDENT, BILL WILL OFTEN SIDE WITH THE PRESIDENT OR JUST THE OPPOSIT, HANNITY FINDS THIS IMPOSSIABLE TO DO. (SMILE)
