Drugs Found on Megachurch Pastor Found Dead in Times Square
Tims was the head of an 8,000-member church, the New Destiny Christian Center, in Orlando, Florida. His body was found in the W. Hotel. It was discovered by a working who was trying to check the minibar in his room, who then found that the room was latched from inside. Tims was found inside the room lying on his back between the bedroom and living room.
An official familiar with the case said “what that white powdery substance is and whether it played a role in Mr. Tims’ death is still to be determined.”
Police found no signs of trauma and do not yet suspect foul play. The pastor was at a meeting in New York and planned to leave for Texas shortly thereafter. He’d grown up as a drug addict in Maryland and claimed that he’d been saved from his drug addiction in a book that was published in 2006. He earned degrees in Accounting and Theology in Baltimore and moved to live in Orlando with his wife in 1996.
Tims divorced his wife in 2009 after she found that he’d been having a long-term affair with a stripper. They were married for 15 years and had four children.
I know sis. This is truly a shame and even though I hate to admit it, it puts a sour note on black pastors. Now they are only giving condolences because he just passed, but you better believe a little further down the road, sooner than we think, it will be another man making money off the backs of the blacks, takes a fall. I'm split on this one, realizing this man was flesh, had a past with drugs and succumbed and felll down. I did listen to him a few times and will therefore continue to concentrate on the messages he delivered. We tend to put man on a pedestal and forget even in religious history the devil is always in the midst sometimes sitting at the right hand tempting you. He definitely let his guard down on this one, (meaning his divorce due to an affair with a stripper). This will definitely taint his legacy, in my opinion.
