QUAKE SHAKES WASHINGTON AND RATTLES IN NEW YORK

To a day's calm came a 5.9 quake in Washington where hundreds of thousands of people scrabbled to find a safety net. Due to result of the quake many of the buildings and offices in Washington were evacuated or either closed. The approaching quaked caused many government employees to take refuge in corriders. Among damages was a major water main broken inside the Pentagan which poured waters on two floors. Light fixtures and tiles fell as well as ceilings. In addition the quake caused traffic and public transportation to call a halt to traveling until evaluation of safety inspections are completed. The U.S. Capitol also suffered some damage.
Meanwhile, the wide spread quake travelled over the East in parts of Virginia and even landing in New York where panic caused New Yorkers to run and evacuate buildings filling the streets with screams of chaos. Buildings swayed which also caused damages. Although it may have been milder than in Washington, New Yorkers exeperienced a slmilar reaction of fear to take cover to safe areas. Charleston, W. Virginia also felt the quake with tremors shaking which caused also evacuations and safety.
No reports of fatalities were reported at present of this news blog.

Shake up a few prayers..it's a great quake of an idea!


Wow! I don't think natural disasters as they are so called are not less common than they used to be. Frequently they come! Memphis is also on a "fault line" although we haven't been shaken for a few years back in 2001 I believe. It was very mild just a little light shaking the quake was over in our neighboring Missouri. Only thing about quakes...there is really no place to go!
