The famous fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken annouced it's opening on August 11, 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya. Reports indicated that Kenyans were eagerly awaiting a taste from the menu and waited in long lines up to 90 minutes. KFC is the first American food outlet in East Africa and the AP stated that's due to the significant resource of the food supply chain. However, KFC investors have worked with a Kenyan chicken supplier to meet demands of the new resturant prior to it's opening.

The article source stated it has to do with suppliers. Unlike other world countries food suppliers are not as pentiiful in Kenya and regulations have to followed closely. McDonalds and Burger King will need cattle farmers and strick restricts may inhibit their dependency on local farmers which may find it more costly to raise stock to the food supply chain. Since it took over a year to get the chicken farm in tact that gives an indication careful planning had to followed with safety regulations in force.

Bee..I think they are excited...waiting 90 minutes to be served! It was a long aniticipation-- I'm sure worth their wait.
