arrogant from the confident is whether they desire and act for others' happiness greaterthan their own.Arrogance makes us insecure, where as confidence gives peace of mind.The more arragant we become, th emore keenly we feel the dependence of our happiness upon the misforturne and weaknesss of others.

Arragance is needy and dependent on others, deprived from comparison with the external. Confidence is free and independent of others, found and cultivated in the self.

Mistaking arragance for confidence distorts our view of humanity- the way we relate to others and ourselves...such misconception spells out only tragic sufferings for individuals and society.
