HUFFINGTON POST, October 20, 2011 -- Al Sharpton talked Occupy Wall Street and Herman Cain with Jon Stewart on "The Daily Show". While the conversation was far more tame than Sharpton's candid discussion on the "Wendy Williams Show", Sharpton and Stewart had their fair share of fun talking news and politics on Wednesday night.

"First of all," Stewart said, "let me just congratulate you and your trainer." Stewart was referring to Sharpton's substantial weight loss of more than 100 pounds. Stewart then asjed if Sharpton liked working on his new show MSNBC's "PoliticsNation." Sharpton responded that he was enjoying his new show because he can be himself.

"I debate people...I'm not trying to act objective," he said. "You're a newsman! You shouldn't have to be objective!" Stewart responded.

"That's exactly right. I'm Jon Stewart without the cursing." Sharpton said. Stewart assumed Sharpton did not curse on air because it was against MSNBC policies. However, Sharpton told him that he does not curse.

"Ever in your life?" Stewart asked. "I'm profound, not profane." Sharpton said. "Can I just say...check and mate." Stewart laughed.

Stewart steered the conversation to Occupy Wall Street, a cause for which Sharpton has been a strong proponent. Sharpton praised the protesters for changing the conversation to focus on job creation. This was a move away from from what he believed was the dominate conversation topic three months ago, the deficit. On the topic of Herman Cain, Sharpton told Stewart that he "wouldn't support Cain if he was running against a white guy."

It is so ironic that plain old common sense statements can turn out the best comedy lines allowing us all to be able to laugh at, about and along with our own selves....

This interview was too, too short for this very reason.LOL! (smile)
