HUSBAND OF MURDERED NEW ORLEANS RAPPER MAGNOLIA SHORTY SHOT DEAD
The widower of slain rapper Magnolia Shorty has been shot dead just weeks before the first anniversary of his wife's murder.
The hip-hop star - real name Renetta Lowe - was gunned down in her native New Orleans, Louisiana on December 2010.
Now her husband Carl Bridgewater, 31, has been killed in a shooting in New Orleans' Central City neighbourhood on Thursday afternoon, according to local website nola.com.
Police officer Hilal Williams tells reporters that authorities have not yet established a motive and no suspects have been identified.
Lowe was signed to Lil Wayne's Cash Money label, and the hitmaker, along with labelmates B.G., Juvenile, MACk Maine and Baby, all attended her funeral in the city.
