SMELLS

Smells so good
to taste mama's cooking.
I see that baking powder
on her hands as she stands
over dat' wood stove handling
the idles and pouring in her
tastes of love.
Smells so good to me
and my tabby is gazes with
eyes of sparkle...we call
him miracle cause
he was rescued on Thanksgiving day.
He's always a 9 lives cat.
Mama's telling us to go out of
the kitchen with miracle.
Can't take no chance of cat hair
bouning loose around her table.
So..
we stand in behind the stove....and
smell.
