Dr. Drew: (Thinks He's) Digging Deeper Into the F A M U Hazing Death Until Attorney Sets Him Straight
Dr. Drew speaks with attorney representing the Champion family in the death of their late son Robert Champion about university's attitude toward hazing, which caused Champion's death. ...
Don't get me wrong, I liked Dr. Drew's show Celebrity Rehab but he was clearly being a little too sensational for his television audience for my liking especially since hazing is common place all over college and university campuses in across America. Fraternities are notorious for hazing as well as athletic teams. Did you notice how he made the statement that he hears from his "Black friends"... as to validate his comment about hazing being taken to whole different levels on Black college and university campuses?
I'm not condoning what happened with the FAMU Marching 100, but let’s put the issue of hazing into perspective and not make it into a "Black thang" when it’s not. Kudos to the Champion's attorney because had he fallen for that trap, I can see it now... FAMU Marching 100 would be shut down permanently as well as many other HBCU's marching bands (which I hear brings in large amounts of money that support the schools)... Sorry Dr. Drew but it appears that the only thing that was dug deeper into was your comment... Ha!
