TWO SISTERS WERE'NT PART IN FORMER MISSISSIPPI GOVERNOR'S PARDONS

...Gladys Scott said Thursday that she "just started crying" when she found out they didn't get a full pardon. Scott said she is in nursing school, but won't be able to become a nurse unless her record is wiped clean.
"I have to report to the Mississippi Department of Corrections for the rest of my life for a crime I didn't commit. I guess if I had been a murderer, he would have pardoned me," she said. ...

That's so sad; however, I'm not surprised that the ladies haven't lost enough weight to have the transplant surgeries and even if they did how on earth would they pay for it without insurance? This was the issue I brought up last year when I heard that they were getting out of prison on the condition that one follow through with her good faith measure to donate a kidney to the other.

Besides this... they definitely can't be sent back to prison. I agree.

@ Jen ..What the ladies are hoping for now is a full pardon from the new govenor, however he may not likely do so, which leaves them with chances of returning to prison. It's so uncalled for after they have released murders to roam free and often they are repeat offenders. It's cruel, but often the justice system is subjected to unfairness of the innocent or those with lesser crimes. I don't know why they haven't had the surgeries, it could be very well because of health insurance reasons. How overwhelming.

@Irma...Glad I came across this newest update on them. It was when writing my post Hometown Memphis Lil' Extra : Overwheming! when I discovered this story had connections to pardons I was drawn with interest of their lastest story and decided to post it separately.

This doesn't make sense...Why hasn't some civil rights lawyer taken up the case of these women getting a full pardon? There must be ONE lawyer in America with a conscience right?

Yes, I agree with you regarding the sisters should have been fully pardoned and I'm sure the new governor will.

@ Siebra: This would prove gratifying to the justice system to have them represented. The fight for them is not easy, and lawyers who have money in mind usually look the other way. Makes you ask if the any conscience in anyone who is law abiding? We hope one will have a heart.

@Jen: Never know, there is always hope and faith. I always count on this sure way of the Lord.

@ Irma: Keeping it at the attention will keep channels opened for their pardon, I agree it should be on the things to remember list! F/U is suited to be a pardon in the waiting.

@Jen, these two women are proof of our blessings in having a 'living Constutition' that we can help make brand new laws to fit our present social order. example, Kidney transplants or making them part of a prison system is unique therefore have no law, yet, to cover the needs of these kinds of cases. (smile)

they will be able to get equal justice if we don't stop helping to get our laws changed to fit them and future persons/ situtations like this in this wonderful post smile)

@Siebra, this is where the www comes in for us to keep things like this going, partitions and our bugging our representives (with just one letter,email or phone call can fo the trick. LOL)are he best way...

but, more important is that this kinds of info continue before the public. (smile)
