There is much to say about what you name a baby if you live in France. So.. it was found out when a French couple was taken to court for naming their son Daemon. The couple admitted the name was inspired from The Vampire Diaries. The prosecution claimed the name had "satantic" connotations. Many in the French society ban names that are related to the occult; or associated with any evil connected enity. The couple claimed the actual name in the Vampire Diaries is Damon, but they added an "e" in the name to make it more French sounding. After considering the differences the judge permitted the child to keep the name. French laws regards to banning naming children of such related to occult because they feel it gives the child less self-esteem, and perhaps causes insecurity in life --this is also based on a recent study of less agreeable names for babies. The French along with at least 6 more countries are keeping track on the names of their new-borns. The movie Twilight has many parents naming their daughters "Isabella, or Bella, and their sons Jacob which topped the charts in 2011.
