Phobos Grunt is the name of the Russian Mars Probe spacecrat which came crashing down in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday. The probe was launched in November 2011 and has been floating in orbit for over two months. Russian officials said the probe ran out of fuel, and got stuck in orbit. Finally, the probe came crashing down into the Pacific ocean Sunday night around 9:45 p.m. Russia's mission for the probe was to collect Mars rock and soil samples. According to NASA Russians have had an attempted failures of 17 launches to study the Red planet Mars since 1960. It was speculated the probe would burn up in orbit, but instead fragments of the probe landed in the Pacific ocean.
