THE NEW YORKER MAGAZINE SUPERBOWL COVER: OBAMA DELIGHTS IN WATCHING GINGRICH-ROMNEY DUKE IT OUT

HUFFINGTON POST, January 29, 2012 -- For those wondering if President Obama will watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, the New Yorker's latest cover offers some insight into the big game the President currently has his eyes on.

The cover — drawn by Barry Blitt and entitled "The Big Game" — shows the President watching a football game with GOP candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich. Obama looks on energetically, wearing a big smile and clasping a football and beverage. Romney and Gingrich, who are in the midst of an obvious altercation, wear the same uniform and appear to be on the same team. Romney is shown tackling Gingrich, who is punching up at Romney's face.

Blitt is also the artist responsible for the controversial 2008 New Yorker cover, in which then-candidate Obama and his wife Michelle are shown as Osama Bin Laden-loving, fist pumping, flag burners. Blitt also illustrated the 2011 cover depicting Obama walking on and then falling into water. Obama reportedly asked Blitt for a signed copy of the critical cover.

Hilarious! I love it! Hey, I can't wait to see who will advance to the final round. What about you, eh?

Right, Jen!

And it looks like the toughest competition Romney is facing is...Mitt himself!!! He keeps shooting himself in the foot!!!

And Irma...did you see Chris Matthews devastating comparison of Mitt Romney with Presdient Obama? One was in LawVegas kissing the feet of a reality show producer who likes to fire people (like Mitt himself) and the other was at a Prayer breakdfast talking about our biblical responsibilities as a nation to care for our brothers.

It was as clear a comparison as we will ever get.

@ Brother Rich,

Mitt should stick to his talking points and what his Campaign writers are being paid to do... help him win by giving him good campaign material to talk about. Mitt why don't you " Stick to the Script " ?

Richard Kigel Friday, February 3rd 2012 at 10:39AM

Jen--I am sure that is exactly what his advisors are telling him...BUT...when you have to speak in public and actually interact with people, including journalists in a conversational way, sometimes the conversations lead to places that are unscripted. Plus--his advisors know that if the voting public comes to believe that Mitt can't think straight on his feet and that he gets tongue tied and slow witted, well, people won[t vote for him.

That is where Obama can talk circles around him.

It is going to be very interesting to see if the right-wingers will be able to reinvent MITT(?) and be able to try and, go after our president at the same time following their convention. (smile)

It seem Newt is not going any place and now that The Donald has sided with Mitt with from Donald's wives to his bankrupcys to even it seem the Conservative media from print to tv has no use for Donald's brand of take over all of the attention from all to be able to talk about is own self...it an't gonea be good for Mitt's side. (smile)

So sorry Rich, I missed it...but will try for it on a repeat later...it is so nice here until I am now spending most of my time out side. (smile)

How is the weather in N.Y.?...

Actually one of the worst things about the right-wingers trying to do political business as usual is like everything else they do back fires on them so royally in 2012. example,

They are the ones who won last elections on they would creat jobs if elected in 2010...this is 2012 and the only one who can claim credit for job creations is our president....therefore what 'talkin gpoints ' can they use something like over 10% unemployment is so much better than 8.5%? As they are trying to do right now???????????????...(smile)

...Maybe Mitt should just wag his fingers in the face of the voters or try like gov. Christie and Newt and just try to insult them...or do like Santorum just change the whole subject and go against civil rights as the Conservatives always eat this stuff up. LOL!!! (smile)
