A man and his grandaughter, Scott Henson, and Ty walking home from a skating ring when they stopped by a policewoman who questioned him about the youngster. The grandfather being White, and the grandaughter being Black stirred controversy when it was discovered that someone reported him as taking the child in a possible kidnapping. After questioning the two were allowed to continue their walk home... Only a few blocks away again, the man and his grandaughter were stopped and surrounded by 5 police cars with flashing who demanded he release the child. When they also questioned him to discover the same story that the child was his grandaughter, Mr. Henson said he was roughed up by police, but was allowed to be released. Sources said that the White grandfather gave proof of being the girl's grandad. Henson with his grandaughter then proceeded home, but said the police never apologized for their actions.
