frosty morn

I woke up to a frosty morn
all dusted white with snow
there was no breeze
not even a flicker
to disturb the serenity.
among the lacy branches sat
a family of birds of red
a mama, a papa, a boy or a girl.
the downy feathered flakes of ice
covered up all the ugly
and left it blanketed
all in white
Oh! what a glorious sight.
