Whitney Houston's mother, Cissy Houston, opened up for the first time about her daughter since the singer's February 11th death. During an emotional interview with WWOR's Brenda Blackmon, at New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey, the 78-year-old gospel music legend set the record straight about the pop icon.

Cissy said that she is very proud of her daughter, and that she was not broke when she died. The Houston family matriarch also blamed the media for reporting false information about her daughter.

"I'm very proud of my daughter; she accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she was here," Cissy said, "She's not broke. She's not anything, none of that crap."

"The media are awful. People have come from here and there, [and they] don't know what they're talking about. People I haven't seen in 20 years.... Here they come, [they] think they know everything, but that's not true," she said, "They really chopped on her, chopped on her...kept, kept, kept."

Cissy said that she has no regrets with how she raised Whitney, and feels she did the best that she could. "I don't blame myself, I know I did the best I could for everything."

Cissy has returned to her gospel roots, and is back to singing. The Grammy Award winning songstress is ready to debut her newest song, "Walk On By Faith," and she shared some of the song's very personal lyrics during her interview.

"You can't see in the future, you can't see through dark clouds. You can't see all the pitfalls, so walk on by faith each day."

God bless Mother Cissy and I thank her for her candidness. I love "real" people. Walk on Mother Cissy by faith. Music is a great way to lift up one's soul and spirit.

Hey Jen you are a joke and you are running scared, you would rather delete me from your page than answer a simple damn question I posed to you regarding why you hate Siebra so much. You and mr. powell have such arrogance but that is not going to mean sh*t when your BlackInAmerica.com accounts crumble.............................

@ Saint,

Absolutely. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about Whitney. When I'm home, I have one of her early modeling photos as a screen saver and when I log in here... but the people are missing her the most are her mother and daughter. Definitely.

Look at you jen you puts up a blog about women disrespecting women yet allow robert to steadily insult siebra in another post written by you.

You know jen you would have a lot more success simply being the intelligent individual you probably could be instead of the self-centered, egotistical, self-righteous pompous b*tch that you come off as. Your refusal to answer my question shows you ain't the sh*t when up against a real woman such as myself huh?

Ummm hmmm.................just what I thought.........lol
