Definitely agree with you regarding HIPPA and patient confidentiality though there's a bit of ambiguity where use of social media by nurses are concerned. Similar to Emily, the nursing student in the video clip, many nurses see their use of Facebook, Twitter, etc, ... as something they have the right to use on their own private time and see it as having very little to do with their work. Even posting pictures of colleagues without their permission to Facebook and such can get really hairy.

I remember going to a wedding of the lady who worked on my unit, but from a different department and she had a blurb in regarding confidentiality and no pictures or footage of the wedding were to be shared on any social media or websites. That was the first that I've heard anyone do that regarding a wedding and the videos or photos. Interesting how things are evolving with the use of social media, eh?
