TRUE LIFE SITUATIONS: MAY IS OLDER AMERICANS MONTH

I'm never considering much coincidental and as I discovered the news it's Older Americans month! I'm much proud to know some beautiful senior and; or older Americans. This year as in every month of May and during the entire year the Adminstration on Aging highlights accomplishments and engage in activities which promote active lifestyles and special honors to the growing aged population. As I think of some the special seniors I know I am hoping to follow it up with sharing in my own community to honor the elderly. Often, many of the aging are left neglected, and even abused and since it's a great month to find a reason to make them feel special I'm one to start encouragement with whatever I can. If it's only to thank them or finding something to bring them a smile.

I also discovered that according to the U.S. Census population for Black persons 65 and older was projected at 2,818,102 in 2000 and is expected to increase to 4,897,772 in the year 2030. This report was released in 2008. The report also indicated that minority growth of aged persons may exceed 9,042.696 by the year 2050. This shows that many Blacks are living longer and will be a growing population among America citizens.

Aging Americans are seeking much better health care, exercise and are encouraged to eat and live more active lives. In addition, many aged Americans fellowship in groups of retired persons for supplication to their active involvement in religion and social gatherings. It's a true life situation the aging population is growing older, living longer and are remaining a voice in the United States and in the world.

This year's Adminstration On Aging (AOA) theme is
"Never too old to play."

"I still play with bubbles"...OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooo...
