Pictures on Black Authors Connect (Really?)

Greetings,

I just want to vent for a moment, if I may. I recently received an email from the administrator for BAC about a recent picture I had for my profile. The picture was of me in uniform from my deployment in 2006 -2007 to Iraq. I blocked out my name tag because though I enjoy entertaining everyone with my stories, Shakeim Edmonds is only a “pen name”. My true birth name is not of importance on BAC because my capacity here is not personal; it’s for the concept of business. I write stories, that’s what Shakeim Edmonds is in the realm of literature, a creator of entertainment. However, as much I love doing what I do, I have a sense of pride in all that I have accomplished in my everyday life. The military picture was one of those moments and that’s why I posted it. If anyone assumed that it was being posted without conscience, I understand but when I am not writing or publishing books or poems, there is another whole side to the man you see on the internet.

Brother Shakeim,Reggie (one of our BlackInAmerica.com administrators) he explained to me that one of the reasons they delete certain pics is that they do audits on the site every year to enhance the networks (i.e. to make it a better site).

Actually in your case I think they are lying I see other pictures of folk in military garments and it never got deleted from these sites...maybe they just wanted to see how TESTY you are????
