Mass flooding in China including Beijing left overtures of reminders to hurricane Katrina. The massive flood waters left more than 100 casualities and hundred more missing. The heavy rains affected around 6.23 million people of China. There were forced evaculations of 567,000 according to one news source and destroyed over 29,000 homes and 55,000 in other places of China's provinces. China's chronic flooding has been a recurring problems with it's rainy season of torrential rains and storms.

The report also stated that the extented damage is critical leaving many flooded victims without shelter and food thus giving a lead way of comparison to hurricane Katrina's encore. More than 80% of Beijng's roads are closed with impermeable materials and clean water is becoming polluted. This resent flooding has resulted in more closer obseravtion to have China's captial cope with flooding and ways to assist in future disasters with more safety net options.
