Police say handcuffed man, Chavis Carter shot himself in the head????

Ok see if you believe this one. In Jonesboro, Arkansas Chavis Carter an African American man was arrested on marijuana possession after being searched and put in black of a police car with his hands handcuffed behind his back. He wound up dead with a bullet in his head. The arresting officers claim he shot himself. You read right they claim a handcuffed shot himself although we know they searched him because they found the marijuana and at that time found no gun. So where did the gun come from and better yet how does a man with his hands handcuffed behind him shoot himself in the head.
