"Innocence of Muslims" is a film released about the Prophet Muhammad which gave way to temperaments which claimed the life of US Ambassador Chris Stevens and that of 4 others at the Libya’s Embassy on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. The film excerpt was available on a You Tube internet site and was lashed with opposition and triggered tempers among Libyans which resulted in violent actions at the US Embassy where there was burning and shooting. The film about the Prophet Muhammad is said to be offensive and depicts Muhammad which Muslims find unacceptable an inappropriate. The film was posted on You Tube in 2011, but only attracted attention in Middle East after an unknown contributor dubbed it into Egyptian Arabic. Sources stated that in the recent weeks extreme Islamists who disliked the presence of Coptic Christians aimed the violence in revolt of the film’s depiction. Additionally, in Egypt protestors burned the American Flag and shouted obscenities on the American people and the US government.
Since the demonstration of protest, the Israeli-American writer and director Sam Bacile has went into hiding, but has remained defiant that he intended the film to be a political statement condemning religion --this is according to the news sources. Bacile’s film is a two hour movie which was stated “is not designed to attack Muslims,” but to describe an so called destructive ideology of Islam. The movie is said to reveal satirical fashion of the life of Muhammad. President Obama spoke well the US Ambassador Chris Stevens calling him courageous and exemplary. United States officials also felt the violence was entirely proportional and was additionally unrelated to any persons at the US Embassy.
