On October 3, 2012 a special event was held at the University of Maryland called, The Real Black in America: Issues the Corporate Media Ignore. This event focused attention on issues that negatively impact Black/African people that the US corporate media routinely ignore. It was a very powerful and important event geared towards awareness and organizing.
