SHERMAN – An African-American man has filed a lawsuit against the Plano Dr. Pepper plant complaining that he was terminated due to racial discrimination and harassment.

Bryon Gooden filed suit against Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc. on Oct. 17 in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.

Gooden, an African-American male, was hired by the defendant April 30, 2010, as a machine operator. He was terminated from his position on July 8, 2011. Gooden states that he was terminated due to race discrimination and harassment.

According to the lawsuit, Gooden was terminated for refusing to take a drug test.

The defendant is accused of race discrimination, harassment and creating a hostile work environment.

The plaintiff is asking for an award of damages for lost wages, bonuses, benefits, interest, attorney’s fees, punitive damages and court costs.

Gooden is represented by Kevin S. Wiley Jr. of Law Offices of Kevin S. Wiley Jr. in Dallas. A jury trial is requested.

U.S. District Judge Ron Clark is assigned to the case.

What seem to be missing here is vial info such as is 'drug testing' madatory for employment at this business?...this person's working records hisrtory such as having accidents, missing work, working with others causing his work place to be a good environment to work ,ect.(nup)...

"I" do wish him th best in his law suit as law suits often requires better working places as well a safer working places...not tomention better pay for ones work...
