The World Health Organization has claimed that antibiotics is one of three greatest threats to human health. Experts fear that resistance places humans in becoming nearly defenseless against some bacterial infections. This is threaded from the dependency and misuse of over prescribed prescriptions which caused many humans to become resistant to fighting off bacteria infections naturally with defenses in the body. Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Dr. Thomas Frieden, calls on American law makers to address the problem. This will hopefully give the health community some provisions over prescribing antibiotics and giving cautious limitations to use of antibiotics. Specialists are concerned that more an antibiotic is used the less it becomes effective. Genetic mutation of bacteria makes them resistant to antibiotics, is a natural process, but when the drug is overused it accelerates the process.
In addition, the report also indicated that livestock treated with antibiotics are also subjected to the heath threat and that children who are often consumers of antibiotics are also threatened by over-subscription of antibiotics.

Miisrael, this is a serious problem. But I don't think lawmakers can solve it, as Dr. Frieden suggests. I think we will have to rely on the medical community, and in my experience doctors are generally responsible about prescribing these meds.
