A former Robins airman is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty this month in a 2011 shooting death at a Macon nightclub.

Steven Holsey, 23, was originally arrested by Macon police and charged with murder after 20-year-old Anthony Harris Jr. was fatally shot in the Whiskey River parking lot July 29, 2011.

Police said a fight inside the club spilled into the parking lot.

The case was later transferred to military jurisdiction, and Macon police investigator Dennis Terry was summoned to Holsey’s court martial Jan. 2 and 3, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

Holsey pleaded guilty to shooting Harris and a cover-up of the crime, the release stated.

Holsey was sentenced to life in prison and won’t be eligible for parole until he has served 40 years.
