Politicans gathered for a most comprehesive celebration to Civil Rights icon Rosa Parks on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. The honorary bronze stature was unveiled as the only Afro-American figure in the Capital. The dedication ceremony included speeches of good words and poignant highlights of Mrs. Parks life and impact on the Civil Rights Movement. President Obama and others spoke diligently of her rewarding life and gift to so many in the United States of her brave courage. This also marked an excellent end to Black History Month in the year of 2013. The stature will remain on permanent diplay at The Captial Building.
