President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez dies after his battle with a recurring cancer condition. The President served a term of 14 years in office. Chavez is a hero among many Venezuelians who are mourning the loss because of his contributions to many of the poor and needy in the country. In addition, Chavez had a background of promoting socialism among the country which gave him reputation of being some what having a dictator's outlook for capitalism on those who wanted to practice freedom of assembly. Chavez won favor among the poor which gave his recent elected win in 2012, but becoming gravely ill he was defeated and overcome by death and did not finish out his term. Although his connections with the United States government was somewhat less than friendly he never discontinued with oil and gasoline exports in the U.S. Re-election of new president will be in two weeks. Meanwhile, his vice president will take over the leadership of the country. Mourners wailed in streets on March 06, 2013 and Chavez was laid to rest on Friday, March o8, 2013.
