The chaotic first months are over and your baby's schedule is probably becoming more predictable. If you and your partner are raising your baby, it's important for both of you to get a chance to care for and bond with your baby. Make sure whichever one of you is not the primary caretaker gets regular time alone with your little one, for bathing her, changing her, and just getting tuned into her needs.

@Steve

Absolutely..... when I get home the first thing I do is get my girl and bond and love her.

Plus my mother helps Janelle during the day so that she can do errrands and get out of the house and excercise as well too.

It's great being an parent however the partying activities have been curtailed because it's a new day.

But we have great parents that are crazy over their first grandchild and that helps us alot.

Hope all is well with you!

It's been many years for me and I can only remember certain things, like my first was a colicky baby but my middle one was as content as could be. But when they got their first tooth, took their first step, etc., I could't say, but my wife could. Women seem to remember all those things. My mom could still tell you when I took my first step. But I also traveled a lot, I think my longest time away was five weeks in Germany. There was 8 months in France, and I'd come home for a break every couple of weeks. My oldest son still comments how I was never there.

I do remember one thing now that I think of it. It was the first sentence my second son spoke, over the phone when I was away in France. It was "daddy? you...come...home...now?"

I think it was right around when he turned 2. I'll ask my wife.
