I like the Urban interpretation/spin you put on this... ~Ha! I remember seeking love in all the wrong places, but one day I heard the voice of a Man who would show me the way and His Name is Jesus. He spoke to me as clear as day, "How can you love someone else when you don't love yourself? Love me and I'll show you how to love yourself and then you can love others."
It was when I started to worship Him with my entire spirit, soul, and body that God began to reveal to me His purpose, plans, and visions for me. Things fell in order like 1, 2, 3. It was in those times of worship that I realized that God is Love and that loving the Lover of my soul would cause the man that He desired for me to come to me.
But when I was giving all my commitment to them fools, I couldn't see the right man God had in mind for me.
