DEAR GARDENERS: READ THIS IF YOU ALREADY KNOW ..... YOUR HOUSEPLANTS
HOW TO KILL YOUR
HOUSEPLANTS...
MAY 2013
Dear Gardeners and Friends:
The month of May brings flowers, and Mother's Day. Roses will be in blooming mode as well. But you can also have those beautiful houseplants with, or without blooms.
This letter offers time saving and life thriving tips for anyone having a hard time growing anything indoors. They know exactly how to kill houseplants, but they have very good intentions of wanting them their plants to live.
What not to do? I can give those poor mothering skills a few tips:
Do you sit your new born plant in a dark room where there's no sunlight?
Do this: Plants rely on some kind of light from the sun or --
Do you forget to open the curtains and blinds?
Do this: Open your blinds/curtains everyday Plants require light in.Your plant can gather nutrients from the sun. Also turn your plant around at least every 2 weeks to let light equally surround it. Make sure there's a window close near where your plant sits.
Do you leave your plant in the same pot your brought in home in?
Do this: The plant can easily become root bound and outgrow the pot's depth. Resulting in death of the poor little thing! Repotting is much suggested, and soon as possible. Do wait longer than a week.
Do you forget to water your plant?
Do this: Set reminder days for watering time. Usually, once a week is fine for most housebounders. Keep a calendar time to water.
Do you drown and overwater?
Do this: Buy pots that have draining bottoms, it help prevents overwatering.
Do you never prune them?
Do this: Pruning plants shows attention. Old dried leaves should be removed, prune them at a slant, and shape up your plant evenly.
Do you never talk to your plant?
Why not? I think its quite natural. Plants in it's own secret life can respond to sound. Speak to you little darling often. Even, everyday. So you can do it when nobody else is around.
Since you know more about how to destroy your plants, learn to do the opposite. Thriving houseplants will show the results. Afterall, they are living pets too!
Best to your new plants.. Mother's Day is May12, 2013 and houseplants make great gifts! If you want you can give your mom this letter! [Smiles]
Blessings to All Mothers, Those still with us, and those who have blessed us in our memories
By the way, the plumbing if fixed, and they didn't have to dig up anything after all! What joy filled my heart!!

I'd surely like to know..
Mine grows with
LOTS OF LOVE

Irma, I'm so proud of you. Your plant is still alive! Well, I must say you are getting the knack! I do recall the other one didn't make it. If you can get the scientific name of your plant you can give it your own name. Something that gives its relation to you will be nice. I have names for my plants, like May Pat, which reminds of two women I worked with years ago, Poppa, which was a plant given to me when my Dad passed away, and Fernandez, my beautiful big boy fern. You're lazy? well you're not along, I've been moving a little slower than usual. Got to get working on my Summer's porch! We'll both need to get away from the computer! LOL!
