I hope this Lifeclass will have the courage (and honesty) to explore not only those cases where fathers have chosen not to be involved in their children's lives but also those where they have been forced out of their children's lives by hurt mothers who have been left or mothers who have moved on to another man and think all their children need is a "father figure," not a father. Until we change our laws and court practices to make true shared parenting the default arrangement for parents living apart (when there is no credible evidence of harm to the children), we and our legal system are co-conspirators in creating fatherless sons (and daughters).
