Duchess of Cambridge Has Given Birth to a Baby Boy, Palace Says

The Duchess of Cambridge, the former Kate Middleton, has given birth to a baby boy, Kensington Palace announced. The baby was delivered at 4:24 p.m. local time at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, west London, weighing 8 pounds, 6 ounces. Following tradition, news of the birth was posted on an easel on the grounds of Buckingham Palace. The announcement came more than 12 hours after it was announced early Monday morning that the 31-year-old duchess had gone to the hospital in London in the early stages of labor.
