At least 8 inches of rain down poured on the Mississippi Gulf on Sunday, August 19, 2013. The flooding by quick heavy rains lead to business and commercial offices to become closed. At least 22 streets in Gulf Port were drenched with flood waters. In some areas of the the Gulf towns at least 18 inches of rain fell to evict homeowners out and move the waters in. Although some water receded, the forecast calls for more rain. The year's season has been one with above average rainfall.
