I intentionally stayed away from the any media broadcasts concerning the Anniversary of 9/11. It's really sad after all these years.

Yep and directly or indirectly we were all effective by this sad event.
Note: The way is was narrated by the US government was false too!

Yep the world was effected, not just NY since it was in NY that this horrific event happened. May we not forget those who lost their lives that day. They paid the ultimate price.
