Volusia County Sheriff's Office and HAZMAT teams were called in to check out the suspicious substance that turned out to be crack cocaine.

Cocaine cannot be used to pay your water bill.

That's the message from Deltona Water Office, in Florida, after one customer tried using the illegal drug to settle his account.

Cashiers were left shocked when the man entered the Enterprise Road office on Monday morning and handed over an envelope with white powder inside.

Fearing it could be a toxic chemical, the building was evacuated.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office and HAZMAT teams were called in to check out the suspicious substance.

"Interestingly enough, it was crack cocaine," Sheriff's Office spokesman Brandon Haught told Beacon Online News.

The identity of the man has not yet been revealed but investigations were continuing, he added.

Something is seriously, seriously wrong in the state of Florida. I'm just sitting here shaking my head and wondering how a state could have so many criminally minded and asinine people. The sad part is that the street value of the coke was probably more than enough to pay his bills!
