Crime..."A Traitor"
North Korea held its execution of it's number two man on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Jang Song-Thaek was executed after he faced Special Military Tribunal which convicted him as a "traitor" . The type of execution he received was believed to be have been by firing squad. Jan Song-Thaek is the husband of Kim Jon Un's biological aunt. Thaek was a senior general and vice-chairman of the National Defence Commission and secretary of the Worker's Part of Korea Administration, openly admitted he had premeditated a coup against Kim. Jang Song-Thaek was stripped of all his posts and titles , and sentenced to death by execution. Government officials in South Korea are showing concerns of incidents relating to executions and are keeping close watch.
