The federal government is extending the deadline to apply for Obamacare coverage until Christmas Eve.
Americans can now sign up as late as Tuesday and still get coverage that kicks in on January 1, CNN producer Adam Aigner-Treworgy reports.
"This is similar concept as Election Day: if you are in line when the polls close, you still get to vote," an administration official told CNN.
