DECEMBER 2013
Beirut

A car bomb was upsetting in Beirut early on Friday, December 27, 2013. The bomb exploded injuring at least 50 people in the area and also killing 6 people and former finance minister Mohammed Chatah. The former cabinet member was on his way to attend a meeting when a nearby automobile bombed. Chatah is also the former ambassador to the United States. The evidence of the scene is still being investigated and gathered. This recent bombing has some speculation of being targeting diplomats because of the Syrian uprising, however no exact claimers of the bombing has been connected to a specific group as this story still develops. Troops in Beirut set guard over the incident while evidence is being collected for evaluation. Citizens in Beirut are deeply distraught and sadden.
